Riverstone Mall: A Green Light for Meyerton’s Future

Meyerton is set to shine with the upcoming launch of the R370 million Riverstone Mall.

Scheduled to open its doors in March 2025, this state-of-the-art shopping centre will be a game-changer for the Midvaal community. Developed by Alley Roads, the 20,000-square-meter mall will be the first formal retail offering in the area, bringing much-needed convenience and lifestyle options to residents.

    A Green Initiative

What sets Riverstone Mall apart is its commitment to sustainability. In partnership with Blue Energy Africa, the mall will be powered by a hybrid energy system, reducing its reliance on the national power grid. This innovative approach will not only ensure uninterrupted shopping experiences but also shield tenants from rising electricity costs, a significant concern for businesses.

The installation of a 5.0 MWh battery, one of the largest of its kind in the country, coupled with a 2.3 MWp photovoltaic (PV) panel system, will allow the mall to operate independently during peak demand periods and inclement weather. This green initiative is expected to save over 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, contributing to a greener future.

A Bright Future for Affordable Housing

Alley Roads is not only transforming the retail landscape but also making significant strides in affordable housing. The developer has recently completed over 1,000 off-grid apartments across seven developments, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable living.

The highly anticipated Palm View Estate, an R10 billion project in KwaZulu-Natal, is another testament to Alley Roads’ vision. This 450-hectare development will offer over 6,000 affordable housing opportunities, complete with world-class amenities and stunning natural surroundings.

As Riverstone Mall and Palm View Estate continue to shape the future of South Africa, Alley Roads is solidifying its position as a leading developer, driving innovation and sustainability in the property industry.
