Sahif, BBC mourn loss of Dr Thandi Ndlovu

The South African Housing and Infrastructure Fund (Sahif) has acknowledged the passing of construction industry heavyweight Dr Thandi Ndlovu, who passed away following a car accident over the weekend.

Sahif CEO Rali Mampeule said Ndlovu had paved the way for a lot of women in the industry and that “she was on a mission to unlock more opportunities for others”.

Mampeule added that Ndlovu was “one of the shining stars in the construction industry, thanks to her 20 years’ experience in the sector”.

Ndlvou was the founder of Motheo Construction, and served as president of the Black Business Council (BBC) for the Built Environment.

The BBC said it was “shocked, saddened and left in disbelief” by the passing of the stalwart.

“She went from being a medical doctor to conquering the male-dominated construction and built environment sector seamlessly,” BBC president Sandile Zungu commented.
