    Mashaba to launch new high density housing scheme

    Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba and member of the mayoral committee for housing Meshack van Wyk will on Monday break ground at the site of a new high-density housing scheme, the city council said on Monday.

    It said the development was on one of four sites zoned for high density residential projects and would comprise of 24 buildings consisting of two and three storey walk-up apartment blocks.

    “The social housing development forms part of a mixed integrated housing development and will yield a total of 407 rental units,” the council added in a statement.
